BIG SING Success!
The BIG SING and Vocal
Workshop events were very successful. Lucy Gaster, Vocal Tutor
came from London and took the singers to a new level, singing in three part
harmony for most of the day on Sat 21st March 2009.

Various groups took part at the BIG SING on Tues 24th March 2009 and all enjoyed each other's contributions. Pictured here is the St Stephen's Church Choir.
Others who
performed were "Be Blunts" "Singing for Pleasure"
"Ankor Light Band" and Gaelic contributions from Iain McKenzie (9
yrs) and his sister Catriona McKenzie (11yrs) both of whom were
finalists in the Inverness Music Festival.

It is hoped to repeat this event next year.
Keyboard Classes gain Certificates!
Members of the Tuesday morning keyboard classes all attended a six week course on Music Theory and Musical Appreciation. On the last day, those who had attended all the sessions received a certificate and the morning culminated in tea and cakes baked by the members. Although the theory 'pushed the thinking processes' all members reflected to Tutor Elsie Normington that they had learned so much more about music and entered into a new world of vocabulary! The Members also enjoyed learning about the evolution of music from Medieval times to 20th century music.
