"Merkinch has got Talent" show was a roaring success, packing the theatre and wowing the audience
with a wide range of talent singing and dancing - from the very young
right through to adults. The show was hugely successful and won by Anna
McWhirter who sang like an angel with no backing music.New mini bus for Merkinch Community Centre.

The Management are now the
proud owners of a Volkswagon Crafter mini bus fully adapted with ramp and
additional rails and steps. Much planning went into the spec for the bus
and the colour scheme is really impressive with a silver grey exterior and
plush red seats. The Centre are hugely grateful to the Highland Cross for
this very generous donation.

Singing for Pleasure Christmas Show
Singing for Pleasure performed three
Christmas shows to a packed audience of older people. Many people who live
in Nursing Homes adn rarely go out came to see the show. They watched a
DVD of "Keeping up appearances" which was followed by a fast moving
programme of songs sung by SFP, various solos & comedy acts and the
audience also had lots of opportunities to sing along to well known songs.

After the show, everyone received a
lovely Christmas Tea and everyone went home happy :)
The tickets were sold out at the end
of September and SFP now have to think about even more shows next year....
December 2009
Each group performed for 15 minutes showcasing what they had been doing over the past few months. It was a wonderful evening and everyone hoped that it would be repeated next year.
